About DialWick

A phone number's first three digits answer a question a search engine's one-line summary usually skips: not just "where is this," but why that area code exists at all -- which older code it was carved out of, when, and what that split or overlay actually changed for the people who lived through it. DialWick exists to answer both halves.

Every area code page draws on the North American Numbering Plan Administrator's assignment history, every ZIP code and county page on USPS/Census-derived postal data, and every dialing guide on current carrier and FCC/ITU-T conventions -- not a single figure is typed in from memory. Each page links its sources at the bottom so you can check the primary record yourself.
